Degree and Certification Programs

Degree and Certification

Master of Divinity

NCST offers a Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree for students training for pastoral ministry. (A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is normally required. Exceptions may be considered; contact us for more information.) The M.Div program includes 24 academic block courses covering exposition of most of the New Testament, large portions of the Old Testament, biblical theology, systematic theology, practical theology, and church history. Students will take Beginning Greek and Greek Exegesis alongside their other academic courses. Also, they will complete six practicum modules to gain experience in key areas of pastoral ministry.

Certificate of Biblical Theology

NCST also offers a Certificate of Biblical Theology (C.BibT). The C.BibT program includes all 24 academic block courses. (C.BibT students are welcome to enroll in the Greek courses, but they are not required. The practicum modules are not available to C.BibT students.)

Tuition

Master of Divinity students – $250 per course, plus required practicum modules (see below)

Certificate of Biblical Theology – $250 per course

Audit students – $50 per course

Credit students (M.Div and C.BibT)

How it works:

  1. Our M.Div and C.BibT programs are designed to be completed in three years (8 courses/year).
    • M.Div students are also required to take Beginning Greek and Greek Exegesis. These courses, partially self-directed and partially teacher-led, occur alongside the block courses over a two-year period. (C.BibT students are welcome, but not required, to enroll in the Greek courses.)
    • M.Div students will also be required to complete six practicum modules over the course of three years. (Details here.)
  2. Everyone takes the class together. Assignments and other requirements are the same for all students.
  3. Students attend the lectures via Zoom.
    • Where possible, we ask students to join live, during class time (Mondays and Tuesdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m. MST).
    • If this is challenging because of work schedules or location (e.g., you live in Tokyo), students will receive a link to the recordings of the lectures. They will be expected to watch each video within 7 days and to turn in all assignments on schedule with the rest of the class.
  4. Once accepted into NCST, students will receive a user login for the NCST website which allows for payment of the courses.
    • Once a course has been paid for, students will be enrolled and gain access to its syllabus, outlines, assignments, and videos.
  5. All written assignments will be uploaded to the appropriate location on this website in one of the following formats: .docx, .pages, or .pdf (unless alternative instructions are given by the teacher).
